SUMMARY
The Foreman, Water Plant is responsible for a variety of semi‑skilled, skilled, technical and maintenance work in the operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of municipal water treatment facilities and systems. This person will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant and additional water infrastructure in the absence of the Superintendent, Water Plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis position supervises four (4) employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City’s policies and applicable laws. Carries out supervisory responsibilities of the department in the absence of the Superintendent, Water Plant. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems upon guidance from the Superintendent, Water Plant.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED and one‑year college or technical school; and five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with basic mathematical concepts along with industry‑related formulas. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (if required)Must hold a Class IV Water Treatment License & a valid driver’s license.
