Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.
- Education: Graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
- Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and holds a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Experience: None required.
- Certifications: Holds the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co‑workers who work in the Emergency Room, PALS is required.
- Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Preferred Experience: Critical care experience preferred.
