Cooler Inventory Control SS; Day Shift

To monitor and account for the movement of inventory to and from the outside freezers and perform reconciliation activities to ensure Gemms accuracy.

• Monitors and accounts for movement of inventory to and from processing plants and outside freezers.
• Reconciles Gemms Inventory to outside freezer inventories; reconciles inventory by lot to outside freezers
• Maintains proper product status in Gemms. If the product is on hold or not
• Prepares inventory reports for management.
• Receives, verifies and documents inventory errors that have been identified. Ensures accounting is aware of variances
• Tracks hold product inventory and supply any necessary reports.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical

Activities:

Must be able to stand on feet for the majority of shift; be able to work in a cool, wet and noisy environment; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. of frozen product from the floor to waist; must be able to bend and squat to and from the floor frequently.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Will use water resistant/slip resistant and steel toed footwear, gloves, protective eyewear, apron, hearing protection hair net(s), and all other required safety equipment.

Travel:
May be required to take a company vehicle to an outside cooler within a 50 mile radius.

Technical

Experience:

Basic computer skills. Have the ability to obtain and maintain forklift license.

Industry

Experience:

Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
