Position SummaryServes as Head Coach of Women’s Soccer, an NAIA and Sooner Athletic Conference program. Provides overall leadership for the women’s soccer program including: discipling/mentoring student‑athletes, managing daily operations, coordinating practices and games, recruiting student‑athletes, ordering equipment, scheduling, monitoring the strength and conditioning program, game day set‑up of field, and other duties as assigned. Responsible for enforcing institutional, conference, and NAIA regulations relevant to the JBU soccer program.
This is a full‑time position.

- Recruiting: Following all NAIA guidelines, recruit student‑athletes to JBU by working closely with admissions, financial aid and the Director of Athletics.
- Team Leadership: Heart for leading and growing young women in their faith, both on and off the field. Monitors and mentors the academic progress of team members. Communicates and furnishes all necessary information to AD and FAR for eligibility reporting. Works with the head trainer in the prevention and care of athletic‑related injuries. Organizes and conducts effective practice sessions. Delegates responsibilities to the assistant coach and evaluates his/her performance.
Sets goals and objectives and accomplishes them without the need for frequent follow‑up. - Budgeting/Administration: Manages and works within the operational budget and scholarship budget. Follows all expenditure procedures. Purchases all necessary equipment and uniforms. Organizes and is responsible for equipment and uniform checkout, inventory, and storage.
- Scheduling/Publicity: Schedules non‑conference games – home and away. Schedules all travel details – hotels, meals, transportation. Works with the Facility Coordinator and other coaches to schedule fields for practice and the weight room for conditioning. Works with SID on all publicity, statistics, pictures, and other related matters.
- Alumni Engagement: outreach to soccer alumni, building relationships
- Meets the following performance indicators: Provides intentional spiritual development throughout the academic year. Monitors the behavior patterns of the student‑athletes to ensure an understanding of the expectations and the importance of the JBU Community Covenant. Maintains a team climate that is mutually respectful of coaches and athletes. Monitors the graduation rate of the student‑athletes. Maintains a win/loss overall record over 5 years that exceeds or averages .500.
- Other Responsibilities: Other assignments within athletics.
- Optional Responsibility: Option of running summer soccer camp for female youth. The Coach privately owns the camp and is responsible for incorporation (if desired), insurance, JBU rental fees, coaching salaries, printing costs, and equipment costs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
- Experience teaching the game of sport, as either a coach or a teaching professional.
- Strong communicative, organizational and administrative skills.
- Competent knowledge of sport specific techniques, skill development and game planning.
- Experience in building and managing a team.
- Experience in recruiting for long term stability.
- Head coaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Teaching at the college level.
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree; preferred master’s degree and/or coaching certification
