Tax Associate

Overview

Tax Associate role at H&R Block. This position provides expert tax training and support, allowing you to develop a flexible career that balances client service, business growth, and continuous learning.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face-to-face and through virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email).
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support.
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration.
• Continuously grow tax expertise.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
• Ability to work a minimum of 25–35 hours weekly during tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course

• Effective communication in person, via phone, and in writing.
• Must meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
