What You’ll Do:

• Conduct evaluations, assess home environment (as appropriate), identify equipment needs related to speech/language function
• Identify functional speech defects and establish a plan of care to improve patient outcomes
• Administer diagnostic speech and language evaluations and basic, informal audiological assessments in accordance with the plan of care
• Recommend communication devices/aids as indicated
• Prepare reports of diagnostic evaluations and make recommendations
• Advise, consult, and teach appropriate procedures and supportive activities to clients, families, and staff
• Provide direct speech therapy services to clients under a plan of care and report responses to the provider

Qualifications:

• Certification of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
• Licensed as a speech therapist in the practicing state
• At least one (1) year of experience in an acute care setting or equivalent
• Knowledge of principles and practices of speech therapy
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to make home visits and provide care in the home environment
• Reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and appropriate auto insurance
