Description:
The Client Child Health RN is responsible and accountable for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
S/he provides care to patients via the therapeutic use of the nursing process, in collaboration with other health care team members.
S/he demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care relevant to the patients under his/her care, applying principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
S/he assesses and interprets patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs.
S/he functions in the role of a primary RN in areas including Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, and Mother-Baby and GYN patients.
The RN may float to other hospital areas as a resource, as directed by hospital leadership or the House Supervisor.
When floated, they are expected to follow the guidance of the Charge Nurse or RN in the assigned department and maintain high standards of care and safety within their scope of practice.
Every third weekend is required.
Block scheduling is available upon request.
The work requires three years of experience in Labor and Delivery, three years of experience in Nursery, and three years of experience in Medical-Surgical.
Proficiency with EMR documentation is preferred.
Experience related to Baby Friendly practices is also preferred.
