AP Specialist

Kforce has a client in Silver Spring, MD that is seeking an AP Specialist.

Responsibilities:

* Receive, review, and process vendor invoices, matching purchase orders, packing slips, and approvals

* Verify accuracy of pricing, quantities, taxes, and account coding

* Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card payments

* Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

* Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and ensure compliance with company policies

* Monitor AP aging and assist with cash flow forecasting

* Assist with month-end close: accruals, AP reconciliations, and reporting

* Allocate invoices to correct jobs, phases, and cost codes based on project budgets

* Work with project managers to validate job-related charges and ensure cost accuracy

* Track job cost variances and support job cost reporting

* Maintain accurate job cost data in the accounting system (e.g., Sage, Quick Books, Viewpoint, etc.)

* Support project audits and provide documentation as needed
* Invoice processing and data entry experience

* Knowledge of basic accounting principles

* Proficiency with ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Quick Books)

* Vendor account reconciliation experience

* Experience with compliance with tax and audit requirements
