Senior Business Analyst - E-ISAC

The Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC  ) was formed in 1999 in response to Presidential Decision Directive 63. The E-ISAC, in collaboration with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council (ESCC), is designed to serve as the primary security communications channel for the electricity industry. Its vision is to become a world-class, trusted source of quality analysis and rapid sharing of security information for the electricity industry, and its mission is to reduce cyber and physical security risk to the electricity industry across North America by providing unique insights, leadership, and collaboration.

By fulfilling the vision and mission, E-ISAC will enhance the industry's ability to prepare for and respond to cyber and physical security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.

The E-ISAC is a member-focused organization that interacts with and requires the support of a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including electricity industry asset owners and operators, governmental organizations, industry trade associations, research organizations, and supply chain vendors.

Its primary focus is on security issues at the bulk power and local distribution system levels and strengthening cross-sector resilience. The E-ISAC is operated by NERC and is organizationally isolated from NERC’s enforcement processes.

The vision for the ERO Enterprise, which is comprised of NERC and the six Regional Entities, is a highly reliable and secure North American bulk power system. Our mission is to assure the effective and efficient reduction of risks to the reliability and security of the grid.

The Senior Business Analyst serves as a bridge between E-ISAC business stakeholders and the Data Analytics team, helping translate business needs and operational challenges into clear requirements, actionable analysis, and effective solutions. Working closely with stakeholders, data analysts, project managers and technical partners, the role evaluates business processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, supports the development of metrics and reporting, and helps ensure analytics and technology solutions deliver meaningful business value.

The Senior Business Analyst brings strong critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills to help turn data and business needs into informed decisions and measurable outcomes.

• Business Analysis & Requirements:
  Partner with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges and opportunities for improvement. Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, reporting, and data requirements, translating them into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and technical specifications.
• Data Analysis & Insights:
  Conduct exploratory analysis to assess business performance, identify trends and issues, and support informed decision making. Help define and maintain KPIs, metrics, business rules, and reporting requirements that provide meaningful insight into E-ISAC programs and operations.
• Process Improvement & Solution Design:
  Evaluate current-state and future state business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, automation, and user experience. Support business cases and cost-benefit analyses and assess the potential impact of risks of proposed solutions.
