Overview

Greater Maryland Oral Surgery is looking for a Dental Assistant in Silver Spring, Maryland to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.

As a Dental Assistant
, you are an integral part of the care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment.     Monday-Thursday 7am-1pm and some Fridays as needed

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Support:
    Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care:
    Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics:
    Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program
  • X-Ray certification - Required
  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
