** Job Overview:
** The Youth Success Specialist works with humanitarian immigrant youth to support their academic success, social integration, and connection to post-secondary education and career resources. The position supports the implementation of the Youth Mentorship Program, providing individual services, facilitating an organized mentorship program, and implementing after-school, weekend, summer and/or out-of-school programming. The Youth Success Specialist works closely with clients, volunteer mentors, teachers and counselors to set goals, develop individual service plans and track client progress through the program.

While all Youth Mentorship Program participants are aged 15-24, this position also supports other holistic youth programming at the office as needed with varying aged youth.
** Major Responsibilities:
*** Work one-on-one with high school youth and out-of-school youth to develop individual service plans. Conduct regular check-ins with clients during the program to monitor their progress.
* Maintain up-to-date case notes, service plans, and data within Microsoft Excel and databases, ensuring compliance with funder data quality and outcomes.
* Support facilitating the mentorship program by collaborating with colleagues and the community to identify and train mentors, along with administering a guided mentorship program.
* Update training materials and resources for mentor activities as needed.
* Organize group activities with mentors and mentee clients.
* Apply program expectations and follow program routines with all clients to create safe and productive learning environments.
* Support community outreach to identify opportunities and external services to assist youth in making progress towards their goals.
* Accompany and advocate for clients to meetings with teachers and counselors as needed.
* Supervise interns and volunteers supporting the program.
* Other duties as assigned.
** Job Requirements
*** Bachelor’s degree preferred.
* Previous experience working with immigrant youth, preferably including mentoring, tutoring, teaching, and/or curriculum development for English Language Learners.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality program documentation and data.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and command of databases and platforms.
* Strong in-person and virtual workshop/training coordination skills.
* Experience working in a multi-cultural setting.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in a language of IRC participants is a plus, such as Arabic, Dari, Pashto, or Spanish.
** Working Environment
*** Combination of standard office working environment and field work in a variety of locations including schools, homes or field trip sites. Based in the Silver Spring office 3 days/week, potential for field work up to 5 days/week.
* Local travel. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
* Some schedule flexibility, to accommodate for after-school, evening and weekend activities.
