Wellness Trainer, Community Schools – New Hampshire Estates ES

Under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Engagement, Behavioral Health, and Academics, and in collaboration with the Community Schools Coordinator, the Wellness Trainer designs and implements a structured wellness program for diverse populations. The role advocates and promotes wellness, a healthy and active lifestyle, and healthy eating behaviors in assigned schools.

• Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and presentations for school staff on wellness, fitness, restorative justice, and positive emotional and behavioral health.
• Provide training in‑person, synchronous, and asynchronous virtual formats.
• Assist school staff with presentations, events, and workshops for students and families, supporting positive emotional and mental health.
• Offer mindfulness and restorative justice training, materials, and weekly guidance to community school staff.
• Develop and train staff members to serve as mindfulness/restorative justice coaches.
• Support students with effective mindfulness and restorative justice practices.
• Collaborate with all MCPS offices to align student mental and emotional health support, training, and resources.

Hourly wage range: $27.67–$40.00, based on years of service.

• College courses in mindfulness, restorative justice, kinesiology, yoga, exercise physiology, physical education, exercise science/fitness leadership, dietetics, nutrition, public health, or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience developing and presenting training programs to diverse audiences.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and working with adults.
