Cloud Engineer

Overview

Sienna Systems is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to work with our government client to drive the cloud technology, implementations, and direction. You will work directly with client management supporting engineering efforts, system designs, and implementations to guide the organization. We are seeking a candidate with a strong hands-on technical background and excellent communication skills. Strong background in Azure with migration experience.

• Contractor support for the design, migration, and development of production systems for the NOAA environments, including support for engineering/administration, the operational environment, cloud migration, security, and configuration management. The team is lean and agile, so the candidate must be self-motivated.
• Work with client management to drive adoption and utilization; collaborate with client teams to support technical adoption and utilization.
• Demonstrated ability to design and support a variety of cloud platforms and services among various vendors; integrate solutions with on-premise solutions as required in compliance with government standards, policies and configuration requirements.
• Proven ability to manage Azure and AWS cloud environments; apply security controls including FedRAMP requirements and processes.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, fast-paced environment; scripting experience is a plus (e.g., Ansible, AWS-CLI, Power Shell).

• Active clearance with a federal government agency (public trust or above) is REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field preferred, or equivalent of five (5) years of experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience architecting and administering cloud projects
• 3+ years of hands-on experience migrating and assisting others to migrate from on-premises systems to cloud environments
• Cloud certification(s) – Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Administrator Associate or similar
• Strong communication skills

• Salary: up to $170,000 based on years of experience and knowledge/expertise
• Hybrid role with at least one day on site in Silver Spring, MD
