Overview

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Electric
Distribution Planner II to join our Power & Manufacturing – Electric Distribution Team at our Silver Spring, MD office.

CHA’s distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience.

The Electric Distribution Planner II is a unique opportunity for individuals who enjoy working independently in a variety of different environments and have a working knowledge of electric distribution systems. In this role, individuals will be responsible for gaining an understanding of GIS design systems, understanding construction standards, and designing projects as requested with guidance from senior Distribution Planners. The right candidate will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys learning, collaborating with internal and external teams, is comfortable using technology, and can manage their time appropriately.

Your Impact

CHA’s distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience.

Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or combination of High School Diploma and work experience required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience is required;
    Experience with electric distribution grids preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel is required
  • Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling programs such AutoCAD, GIS, ikeGPS and Work management System
  • Ability to travel locally (25%) and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required
Salary Range

$28.00 - $30.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
