HJF is seeking a Dissemination Project Manager to drive successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for a single project or multiple non-integrated projects by coordinating and monitoring the status of work performed by technical staff. This is a role focused on effectively sharing project information and results with relevant audiences. This involves developing and implementing dissemination strategies, managing communication channels, and creating engaging content to reach target stakeholders.

This position will be in support of the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE) in Silver Spring, MD. The TBICoE is a branch of the Research Support Division in the Research and Engineering Directorate (R&E) of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). DHA is a Federal Program within the Department of Defense (DoD). TBICoE, known previously as the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), has been congressionally mandated since 1992 and is currently a matrixed research, dissemination, and knowledge translation program, supporting warfighter brain health and readiness by advancing the traumatic brain injury state of the science and clinical standards.

TBICoE's mission to support the warfighter is executed through subject matter experts embedded across DHA facilities with expertise in TBI clinical research investigations, surveillance, clinical tool development and training, cognitive monitoring and assessment, and dissemination of TBI tools, products, and education/training materials to DoD medical personnel, service members, including Guard, Reserve, and operational medics/corpsmen, veterans with TBI, and families/caregivers of the warfighter.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners.

HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

Responsibilities
  • Manage operational elements of one or more individual projects. Document project scope and plan, confirming objectives, technologies, schedules, milestones and deadlines, funding, and available resources with key stakeholders. Produce and distribute project status reports and documents.
  • Developing and implementing dissemination plans by creating strategies to reach specific audiences with project information, including identifying the best channels and methods for communication.
  • Managing communication channels by overseeing websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, and other platforms to share project updates and results.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders by engaging with researchers, industry partners, policymakers, and the public to foster awareness and understanding of the project.
  • Tracking and evaluating dissemination activities monitoring the effectiveness of dissemination efforts and making adjustments to improve reach and impact.
  • Reporting on dissemination activities summarizing dissemination efforts in annual reports or other documentation to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with project teams by working closely with researchers and other project members to gather information, develop content, and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Document and evaluate existing processes, procedures and guidelines making recommendations for enhancements and improvements as appropriate.
  • Monitor project costs incurred. Prepare and maintain project budget and related reports.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Communications or Education with 5 years experience;
    Master's Degree with 3 years preferred

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, ability to work with and lead interdisciplinary teams, knowledge of all facets of Program Management.
  • Knowledge of military and veterans' health care systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance, including background check and drug screening
