Position: Physical Therapist Floater (PT), Weekends, Inpatient Rehabilitation

Overview

AHC Rehabilitation – White Oak Medical Center is hiring an experienced Physical Therapist to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation department. The role supports Adventist Health Care’s mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities
  • Perform initial examinations and evaluations to establish impairment, diagnosis, prognosis, and a plan of care for all patients, including basic and complex rehabilitation needs in acute, outpatient, or inpatient settings.
  • Provide or direct and supervise therapy interventions consistent with examination results, involving patients and appropriate others in planning, implementation, assessment, and reexamination to evaluate progress and modify the plan of care as necessary.
  • In consultation with appropriate disciplines, plan for patient discharge, taking into consideration anticipated goals and outcomes, and provide for appropriate follow‑up or referral. Discontinue intervention when patients no longer benefit from therapy.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient management, including examination results, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, interventions, response, barriers, status changes, reexamination, and discharge, with care team members.
  • Manage schedule to accommodate census and patient load, informing management of caseload issues.
  • Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status, using the medical record or other treating therapists to ensure case knowledge.
  • Be responsible for individual and assigned hospital performance improvement and professional development activities.
  • Educate and provide consultation to consumers, healthcare professionals, and the public regarding the purposes and benefits of therapy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience (at least 1 year in an inpatient rehabilitation setting).
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Work Schedule

Weekend Rate: $60/hour

Floating: As needed to inpatient rehab locations in White Oak and Rockville

Regular

Schedule:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday (3×12‑hour shifts, 36 hours total)

6:30 AM – 7:00 PM

* Weekends/Holidays may be required, depending on coverage needs.

Pay Range: $34.58 – $55.76
