Food Service Worker, PT Day Shift, Nutrition Services

White Oak Medical Center, Silver Spring, MD

Adventist Health Care is seeking a Food Service Worker to support our Nutrition Services team on a part‑time day shift. The role embraces our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare food following standardized recipes 100% of the time.
  • Stock items for sale.
  • Adhere to HACCP guidelines and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.
  • Follow department policies and procedures for cleaning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 to 4 years of food service experience (preferred). Adventist Health Care will train the right candidate.
  • Serv Safe certification, or ability to pass Serv Safe within 60 days.
Work Schedule

Monday‑Friday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM with one day off during the week and Sundays and holidays required.

Pay Range

$18.00 – $22.79 per hour.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as United States of America (Non‑Exempt).

While some jurisdictions, including Maryland, permit the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to be classified as an illegal drug under the federal Controlled Substances Act. As a result, medical marijuana use will not be accepted as a valid explanation for a positive drug test result.

Adventist Health Care will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine) and marijuana. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re‑apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow‑up testing.
