What You Will Do:The Senior Network Engineer will support the design, implementation, administration, maintenance, and modernization of complex enterprise network infrastructure. This role focuses on network architecture, performance optimization, technical documentation, and the integration of advanced networking technologies, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN), VMware NSX, data center networking, and hybrid-cloud solutions.
The Senior Network Engineer will analyze existing network environments, develop detailed network diagrams, document current configurations and connectivity, and identify opportunities to improve network performance, security, and reliability. During the initial 90–120 days, the Engineer will focus primarily on network discovery, documentation and assessment, including creating network diagrams, evaluating network policies, and identifying configuration gaps involving access control lists (ACLs), segmentation, and routing.
Following the initial assessment period, the Engineer will support SDN architecture and implementation, provide engineering support for VMware NSX environments, assist with storage and backup infrastructure, and contribute to the development of hybrid-cloud architecture solutions. Responsibilities also include designing and optimizing LAN, CAN, and WAN environments, integrating network devices, supporting infrastructure upgrades, and troubleshooting complex connectivity and performance issues.
This individual will also collaborate with systems engineers, network administrators, and other technical teams to develop network designs, evaluate system requirements, and implement scalable infrastructure solutions. The position requires someone with strong network engineering experience, excellent technical documentation skills, and the ability to independently assess complex network environments while providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
