Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. They are knowledgeable about in-store and digital services and solutions that drive adoption, usage and guest loyalty. They enable quick shopping at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring quality.

• Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
• Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns

• Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

As a Guest Advocate, no two days are the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience by delivering the service standard
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
• Engage with guests who need assistance to help solve their specific needs
• Highlight current promos, store activities and events
• Know the tools, products, and services available to solve issues and improve the guest experience
• Thank guests and express appreciation for choosing Target
• Explain benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-up as needed
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards
• Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
• Explain and demonstrate Target App features and Wallet
• Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, and online ordering and help guests enroll and use these features
• Process returns per policy and collaborate with leaders to resolve issues
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and assist with stocking
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance
• Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible
• Support guest services (OPU, Drive-Up, DU returns) with compliance (including adult beverage laws where applicable)
• All other duties based on business needs

• You enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members
• You thrive in a fast-moving, active role where teamwork, flexibility, and problem solving are key
• You are open to a flexible schedule (including nights, weekends, holidays, peak times)

The Good News is that training is provided to learn everything you need to know to be a Guest Advocate, but there are a few skills you should have from the start:

• Effective communication with positive language and attentiveness to guests’ needs
• A welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
• Attention to detail while prioritizing tasks
• Willingness to educate guests about products and services
• Ability to use multiple devices and handheld scanners
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks within time frames

• Accurately handle checkout operations and support cash office tasks as needed
• Safely scan, handle and move merchandise, including lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 44 pounds occasionally
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
• Ability to stay mobile for the duration of a shift
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
