As a Security Officer – Unarmed Cultural Gallery Patrol in Silver Spring, MD
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a cultural institution, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. You will be visible throughout the location, engage with visitors, and provide outstanding customer service.

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to observe for suspicious behavior and/or potential security-related concerns.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or hazards according to Allied Universal procedures.
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or visitor badges as required by site-specific policies.
• Support cultural institution staff and guests by providing directions and answering questions as needed.
• Remain alert to changing conditions within the location and respond to requests for assistance from staff and/or visitors.

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
