Description
This is a contract, on-site position offering a unique opportunity for an associate-level physician to provide specialized cardiac electrophysiology care in a collaborative clinical environment. As a key member of the electrophysiology team, you will deliver expert diagnostic and interventional services to patients with cardiac arrhythmias and related conditions.
In this locum role, you will work alongside experienced cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and clinical support staff to ensure continuity of care and excellent patient outcomes. The position involves performing electrophysiology studies, ablations, device implantation, and follow-up care within a medical practice setting dedicated to high-quality cardiovascular services. Your contributions will directly support the practice's mission of delivering comprehensive, patient-centered heart rhythm care to the Silverdale community.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic electrophysiology studies and interpret cardiac rhythm data
- Conduct catheter ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation, flutter, and other arrhythmias
- Implant and manage cardiac devices including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT systems
- Evaluate and manage patients with complex cardiac arrhythmias
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for electrophysiology patients
- Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs, Holter monitors, and event recorders
- Provide inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology consultations
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcome reviews
- Educate patients and families on cardiac rhythm conditions and treatment options
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and clinical protocols
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification or board eligibility in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Associate-level experience in electrophysiology practice
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Washington
- Valid DEA registration
- Proven proficiency in electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantation
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
- Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and evidence-based medicine
- Current ACLS and BLS certification
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
24-hour general cardiology weekend call shifts
Setting:
Primarily outpatient, some inpatient
Duties: EP procedures, EP service, clinic visits, new consults, follow-ups, and transferred patients
Required Procedures: AFib ablations, SVT ablations, high- and low-voltage device implants, etc.
Support Staff: MA, APP, and device RNs
EMR:
Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
