Cardiac PCU RN – Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Job Summary
This 32‑bed telemetry monitored unit houses PCU level of care with some medical/telemetry overflow as well. It is our primary stroke unit that also manages respiratory and cardiac patients. The unit is staffed at a 1:3–4 patient ratio consistent with national standards of care.
Essential Duties- Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
- Initiates and titrates multiple, complex cardiac‑related infusions at higher doses.
- Manages high‑flow & bipap patients.
- Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Previous PCU or ICU experience preferred; emergency room experience also considered.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification and quarterly AHA RQI competency certification post‑hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or attainment within six months of hire.
- CCRN or PCCN preferred.
