About the Opportunity

As a Behavior Specialist at Center for Social Dynamics (CSD), you will support children with autism using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. Your role involves working in homes, at CSD centers, and community settings to help children build communication, social interaction, and daily living skills. Training is provided and you’ll receive ongoing support from experienced clinical leaders.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct all scheduled sessions unless time‑off has been granted or a client’s parent requests otherwise.
  • Substitute for other clients when a session is canceled, primarily on Saturdays and within your availability.
  • Implement individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Intervention Plans as directed by the Clinical Director and Senior Clinical Leader.
  • Travel to centers, homes, and other community settings to deliver services.
  • Render completed sessions daily and write thorough notes.
  • Communicate schedule changes and cancellations to the clinical team immediately.
  • Participate in regular meetings and promptly communicate with Clinical Leaders via email and phone about treatment plans, family concerns, and questions.
  • Ensure timely completion of required clinical documentation:
    Daily Treatment Session Notes, Daily Treatment Target Data, Daily Behavior Data (if applicable).
  • Keep updated with site‑related documents and current clinical reports for each child served.
  • Stay current regarding new research, trends, and developments in special education and related fields.
  • Attend staff meetings, in‑services, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Enjoy working with children and making a difference.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Flexible availability; high demand for Monday‑Thursday 3–8 pm and Saturdays.
  • Complete new‑hire training (online and in‑person).
  • Proof of required vaccinations: MMR, Varicella, and COVID (California mandated).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Sensitivity to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision‑making abilities.
  • Confidentiality and discretion in the workplace.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer and word‑processing software.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant visual stimulation, including close and distance vision, reading, computer work.
  • Constant sitting and frequent standing and walking.
  • Constant telephone use—speaking and listening.
  • Document handling, use of copier and fax machine, filing.
  • Frequent typing and computer use.
  • Occasional walking around the building, bending, reaching, stooping, pulling.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional driving and use of upper and lower limbs for vehicle operation.
  • Maintain close visual attention to write reports and perform computer work (15 %).
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, loading/unloading of toys and materials used in home visits (10 %).
