Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full-time Clinic Medical Assistant for the Franciscan Medical Clinic - Family Medicine in Silverdale, WA. As our Medical Assistant, you will keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for patients and the clinical team. Your success will come from enthusiasm, efficiency, and empathy.

• Greets and prepares patients for practitioner visits; obtains and records vital signs, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problems; positions, drapes, and cleans after examinations under provider supervision; assists with patient mobility as needed.
• Performs basic lab and phlebotomy procedures, draws blood, conducts EKGs and laboratory tests, and administers approved medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intradermal routes. Informs patients of lab results and mails reports under provider supervision.
• May pend orders for laboratory testing and radiology studies for provider sign‑off.
• Documents medical visits and procedures in the electronic medical record following established protocols.
• Enters data such as patient history, physical exam results, patient education, provider‑dictated diagnoses, prescriptions, and referral letters as directed.
• Reviews documentation to validate information, identify inconsistencies or errors, and ensure overall accuracy of the medical record. Also reviews test results and their interpretation by the provider.
• Troubleshoots and resolves routine issues, escalating non‑routine issues to the provider or appropriate contact.
• Applies legal and ethical requirements regarding medical documentation and patient confidentiality.
• Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments; disposes of contaminated items per standards; keeps exam rooms clean, orderly, and stocked; maintains inventory of supplies; anticipates provider needs for medications, supplies, and equipment.
• Schedules appointments for office visits, ultrasound, non‑stress tests, and processes/authorizes referrals, coordinating with other departments in scheduling mutual clients.
• May perform front‑office clerical duties such as billing, collection, registration, verifying insurance, and collecting copayments.
• Coordinates patient flow to ensure sufficient time for education.
• Performs telephone communication functions, providing clear information verbally and in writing.

• High School Graduate or GED upon hire.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution, or validation of equivalent military training (e.g., Hospital Corpsman).
• Medical Assistant Certification (WA) upon hire.
• Basic Life Support – AHA recognized.

• One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant.
