Systems Administrator

As one of the newest Chenega companies, Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions (CDAS) was developed with the purpose of providing expert engineering and technical support services to federal customers.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring all server tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the management of a Windows Active Directory environment and all applications required to run in this environment, including Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint Server, Maximo, and Configuration Management.
  • Build, manage, and upgrade network servers, including Windows 2019/2022 servers.
  • Support specialized software for the Navy, Marine Corps, and overall Command job functions.
  • Uses computerized ticketing systems to track activities.
  • Anticipate problems and opportunities and address them appropriately and effectively.
  • Perform continuous review of program performance results and interfaces with the client to address status, operational issues, and metrics in a timely manner.
  • Ensures work is executed in accordance with company practices, values, and client specifications.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Provide occasional on‑call support after normal business hours.
  • Employ customer service skills, able to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifying problems/issues, and determining contingency plans.
  • Tracks project milestones and deliverables.
  • Recommends, develops, and executes policies to align with DoD and DoN STIGs and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience implementing new Windows‑based technologies.
  • Experience with common Windows infrastructure components such as antivirus, file services, print services, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Exchange.
  • Experience with personal computers and with the MS Office Software Suite.
  • System Administration experience in enterprise‑class Windows server environments.
  • 2 years of Microsoft Active Directory administration experience.
  • Must be able to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be able to obtain a Microsoft Server certification, or equivalent, within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have a Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top‑Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the common Windows infrastructure components such as antivirus, file services, print services, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Exchange.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques involved in help desk operations, support technician operations, and Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and install relevant hardware, software, and other equipment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop operating systems and associated hardware/peripherals.
  • Ability to work closely and cooperatively with fellow workers.
  • Effective communication and time management.

Estimated Salary/Wage

USD $67,500.00 / Yr. Up to USD $90,000.00 / Yr.
