Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

• Flexible scheduling as long as it meets department needs

• Weekend requirement every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday for day shift)

• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

• No call or standby requirements

• May float to Mother Baby unit when needed

• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 depending on patient acuity

• Work in 10-bed Level II NICU/Special Care Nursery

• Care for babies with low birth weight, prematurity, respiratory conditions, hemodynamic issues

• Experience with bubble CPAP, tube feeds, feeders and growers, substance abuse babies

• Must have Level II NICU experience and ability to attend high and low risk deliveries

• Must be experienced with stabilization and transitioning newborns

• Experience with postpartum couplet care preferred

• Minimum 2 years of experience required (1 year considered with multiple travel assignments)

• Must have experience with ventilators, bubble CPAP, and high flow equipment

• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE

• Scrubs provided by facility

• Unit orientation includes 8-hour compliance day, 8-hour Epic training, and 2-3 twelve-hour shifts

• Manager conducts phone interview and provides feedback to ensure quality care

• BSN not required

• Epic charting system

This medical center features a Level II NICU and Special Care Nursery providing specialized care for newborns with various medical conditions. The facility maintains 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage and respiratory therapy services. The unit focuses on caring for babies born with low birth weight, prematurity, and those recovering from serious conditions, with capabilities to stabilize patients under 32 weeks before transfer to higher-level facilities.
