Work Schedule: Full-time

Compensation: $38.00/hr

General Maintenance Worker III

The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment.

Typical duties include:

• Painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work; clean roof drains and gutters.
• Replacing electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
• Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings.
• Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets; caulking plumbing and kitchen fixtures.
• Communicate with customers and supervisors; inform customers of repairs and determine needs; respond to inquiries and complaints.
• Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
• Use portable handheld electronic devices to manage work.
• Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
• Communicate with the scheduler to update status and estimated completion dates.

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
• Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
• Ability to learn a wide variety of building and grounds maintenance tasks.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.

• Must be able to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motion for several hours.
• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for several hours; climbing in and out of a vehicle and stairs.
• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.

• A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance coverage.
