Type: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time
Compensation: $38.00/hr

Position and DutiesGeneral Maintenance Worker III
The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment.
Typical duties include:
- Painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work; clean roof drains and gutters.
- Replacing electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
- Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings.
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets; caulking plumbing and kitchen fixtures.
- Communicate with customers and supervisors; inform customers of repairs and determine needs; respond to inquiries and complaints.
- Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
- Use portable handheld electronic devices to manage work.
- Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
- Communicate with the scheduler to update status and estimated completion dates.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
- Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
- Ability to learn a wide variety of building and grounds maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.

- Must be able to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motion for several hours.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for several hours; climbing in and out of a vehicle and stairs.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
- A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance coverage.
