Tessera is seeking a skilled Painter Maintenance professional to perform a wide range of painting and finishing services at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. This role is essential to maintaining the appearance, functionality, and safety of mission‑critical facilities. You will be responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces, preparing and finishing a variety of materials, and ensuring that all work is completed to industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
From touch‑ups to full‑scale renovations, your craftsmanship will contribute to the upkeep and professional image of base facilities while supporting Tessera's commitment to quality and excellence.
- Responsible for painting, maintenance, or repair of the interior and exterior of buildings, structures, and facilities, painting different types of surfaces such as wood, drywall, plaster, metal, concrete, masonry, fiberglass, plastic and glass.
- Applies tapes, flushes, repairs and applies texturing, wallpaper and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces; adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
- Prepares surfaces for the application of coatings by removing rust, scale, old paint, etc. before applying new products.
- Applies materials to new construction, existing, multi‑story buildings, alterations and remodeling.
- Paints street and curb markings, special parking markings, road speed limits, caution lines, stop bars, yield lines, and directional markings.
- Performs wall‑to‑wall and entire ceiling painting on an “as needed” basis during change of occupancy maintenance; spot painting is prohibited.
- Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers and electrostatic/pneumatic sprayers, pumps, etc.; safely stores and labels all materials.
- Maintains appropriate service and repair records.
- Responsible for proper storage, disposal, and spill prevention of all hazardous waste in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
- Position may be subject to call‑back availability based on operational needs.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0‑3 years of painting experience required.
- Journeyman Level Painter preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, work plans, and maps.

- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
- A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
