Compensation: $45.52 per hour

TERRA is seeking a detail‑oriented Alarm Technician to support installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and communication systems. This role focuses primarily on fire alarm systems while assisting with related communications and alarm equipment. Working under the guidance of a senior Fire Alarm Technician, you will ensure all systems meet manufacturer specifications, NFPA standards, and safety codes.
Responsibilities- Assist in development, implementation, and monitoring of quality control and safety programs to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Work on various types of fire alarm systems and devices, performing installation, maintenance, repair, overhauling, troubleshooting, modification, construction, programming, and testing.
- Apply technical knowledge of Fire Alarm Panel/Systems principles to diagnose malfunctions.
- Ensure the customer receives a defect‑free product or service.
- Operate electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, integrated alarms, and fiber‑optic materials.
- Perform inspections on completed contract units and document results to meet quality specifications.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems lacking clear documentation.
- Review maintenance documents and inspection records to identify trends and initiate corrective action plans.
- Analyze system failures to isolate the source and determine whether it is software, hardware, or other factors.
- Maintain manual and computerized central office records, including traffic analysis, cable and line records, subscriber service records, and spare parts inventories.
- Run cables and connect key telephone equipment for non‑voice circuits.
- High school Diploma or GED (required).
- 0–3 years experience in Fire Alarms or a closely related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience and knowledge of industry safety standards.
- Professional, effective communication skills.
- Capacity to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motion for extended periods.
- Requires repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, and vehicle access.
- Perseverance under pressure for extended periods.
- Valid state driver's license; ability to obtain and maintain coverage through TERRA's insurance.
