Compensation: $47.57-$47.47/hr

Overview

Tessera is seeking a Mechanic, Steam Maintenance – II to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties on high‑pressure, high‑temperature steam systems in a large‑scale generating station environment. The incumbent will ensure all assigned work complies with applicable technical manuals, safety standards, and operational procedures to maintain reliability and mission readiness.

Typical Duties
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs steam boilers, pipes, valves, and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnoses and resolves mechanical, plumbing, and electrical failures in steam systems, utilizing a variety of testing equipment and tools.
  • Conducts regular preventive maintenance inspections and services on steam systems to extend equipment life and improve reliability.
  • Maintains accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including logs, reports, and service histories.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3‑5 years of experience in steam systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and software related to mechanical maintenance and repair.
  • Strong understanding of steam systems, pressure regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 70 pounds.>
  • Frequently required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
  • Work requires repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
