Tessera is seeking a motivated General Maintenance Worker II (GM‑2) to perform semi‑skilled to skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment. The GM‑2 worker may use manual or power tools and is expected to produce high‑quality work independently and train others.
Typical Duties- Painting, carpentry (including siding), plumbing, masonry, grouting ceramic tile floors/walls, minor electrical work, and minor repairs on sinks, water coolers, toilets, concrete surfaces, and structural components.
- Replacing glass in windows and doors, and replacing or repairing door hardware.
- Clearing roof drains and gutters, and patching holes and cracks in walls and ceilings with plaster or compound.
- Touch‑up painting, caulking, and ensuring completed work meets quality‑control standards.
- Communicating with customers and supervisors to explain repairs, determine needs, and provide status updates.
- Responding to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Making diagnoses, suggesting repair solutions, and collaborating with the scheduler to estimate completion dates.
- High‑school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
- Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
- Ability to learn a wide variety of building and grounds maintenance tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to lift or move up to 70 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for extended periods; climbing in and out of vehicles; and stairs.
- Perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
- A valid state driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Access to federal military installations requires a REAL‑ driver’s license or an acceptable alternative, e.g., U.S. passport or military .
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. Background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
