A bus driver will operate buses over specified routes, ensuring safe, timely, and courteous service to passengers for Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor-WSBOSC.

• Drive bus to transport trainees, government, and/or military personnel.
• Drive vehicles from loading areas to training locations, job sites, or other destinations following schedule.
• Operate large passenger buses for long and short hauls on base and public roads and highways.
• Assist disabled passengers in or out of the vehicle.
• Perform cargo delivery as assigned.
• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Ensure equipment is operational before each shift.
• Clean vehicle and service with fuel.
• Keep accurate trip logs.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Operate other vehicles and equipment as required.
• Perform vehicle licensing examiner functions as required.

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 0-3 years of vehicle operations experience.
• Valid U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card.
• Current or ability to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate (DOT Card) before hire.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
• Capability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours.
• Stand or sit for extended periods; climb in/out of vehicle/stairs.
• Perseverance under pressure for extended periods.

• Valid state driver’s license and access to maintain coverage under Tessera insurance.
• REAL
  -compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ) for federal installation access.
• Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and background check/E-Verify.
