Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient trucking services at Naval Base Kitsap (Bangor). Operate tractors with semi-trailers, full trailers, trucks with dolly converters, and specialized vehicles such as fuel tankers. Transport heavy equipment, oversized loads, and materials while maintaining safety and compliance.
  • Follow industrial safety guidelines, apply safety training and promote a safe workplace culture at all times.
  • Operate tractors and trailers, including trucks with dolly converters and fuel tankers; transport heavy construction equipment and overweight/oversized loads.
  • Provide medium trucking service for trucks under 24,000 lbs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and ensure it is fully operational before each shift.
  • Clean the vehicle and refuel as needed.
  • Keep accurate trip logs and maintain records of materials and products transported.
  • Maintain radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor for instructions and dispatches.
  • Secure cargo for transportation and assist in warehouse receiving, stocking, or issuing.
  • This position may require call-back availability based on operational needs.
Qualifications
  • High school Diploma/GED is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience operating vehicles.
  • Must possess a valid US Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card.
  • Must have current or be able to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate (DOT Card) before hire.
Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. Accommodations may be made on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motion for several hours.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and going up and down stairs may be required.
  • Perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.
Requirements
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance coverage.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL
    -compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative (such as a U.S. passport or military ); see REAL  for details. No vendor links are included here.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
