The Staff Accountant supports the Northridge Site Finance and Accounting department and is responsible for ensuring accounting transactions are processed and posted accurately and timely in a variety of areas. It is essential that the candidate brings strong analytical and organizational skills to best support the  team.

• Prepare month end journal entries manually and review for anomalies and inconsistencies
• Prepare monthly inventory account reconciliations and identify why any unreconciled variances exist
• Analyze and evaluate weekly manufacturing variances including PPV, labor/OH absorption, and inventory valuation and implement timely adjustments. Collaborate with the manufacturing operations to analyze variance and drive improvements
• Assist in developing standard costs for materials, labor and overhead
• Prepare month end journal entries manually and review for anomalies and inconsistencies
• Prepare monthly inventory account reconciliations and identify why any unreconciled variances
• Assist in developing an inventory reserve and perform monthly analysis
• Develop plant expense guidelines to ensure correct classification of controlled expenses
• Assist in budget and forecast preparation and ensure timely completion
• Assist with annual financial audits as it relates to inventory and standard costs
• Perform cost-benefit analyses as needed
• Perform review/audit of cycle count process with Supply Chain quarterly
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements
• Support monthly and year-end financial close
• Support for year-end financial audit
• Monitor policies and procedures for compliance and suggest modifications and improvements
• Maintain effective internal controls and compliance with accounting standards and procedures
• Ad hoc reporting and projects as required

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting/finance or related field
• Public accounting experience with a CPA certificate
• 2+ years relevant work experience in accounting or cost accounting in private sector
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics (D365)
• Able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
• Able to communicate with professionals at all levels and with various professional backgrounds
