At Parker, our team members belong, matter and make a difference. - Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high‑temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables.
We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining and implementing the Supplier aspects of the Quality Management System, evaluating issues, problem solving and facilitating continuous improvements for quality issues and growth opportunities identified within our supply chain. The role monitors supplier performance against quality requirements and contractual obligations using scorecards and key performance indicators. The Manager advocates and supports the Corporate Win Strategy by working with existing suppliers to ensure full quality compliance and participation from Quality for the Supplier Selection Process execution.
Responsibilities- Maintain the Supplier aspects of the Quality Management System to ensure that it is effective in producing, measuring and maintaining a supply base measured by defective/rejected parts, as well as delivery performance.
- Work with the internal Team Members and outside suppliers and customers; participate on and lead cross‑functional teams.
- Collect data, establish facts, define problems, and draw valid conclusions for issues identified with our supply chain.
- Identify supplier projects that will improve the metrics for the supply chain, and establish goals and objectives for the supplier projects.
- Address deficiencies in the Suppliers' Performance Rating as it relates to quality, performance and delivery. Issue follow‑up reports and corrective action reports and provide follow‑up and closure of nonconformance issues.
- Utilize lean manufacturing, error proofing and continuous improvement initiatives to support the supply chain by assisting in the development of robust processes that assure quality products and services.
- Effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to questions from company Team Members, Suppliers and Customers. Ensure that disposition of nonconforming material is handled in a timely manner. Work with Quality Engineering to put in place inspection plans for receiving inspection and suppliers.
- Coordinate with suppliers for initiatives relating to supplier quality performance. Track performance trends and perform quality trend analysis from supplier base and facilitate corrective actions as appropriate.
