Responsibilities
  • Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
  • Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC) and overseeing the pharmacy as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
  • Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the team to do the same.
  • Assuming pharmacy manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences through empathy, genuine care, coaching the team, and resolving insurance or medication issues.
  • Offering and delivering immunizations, and supporting pharmacy technicians to learn to immunize.
  • Managing pharmacy inventory effectively, following best practices and protecting cold chain products.
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive team dynamic.
  • Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills, staying current with trainings, CMEs, and expanding knowledge.
  • Providing pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services, where permissible, to improve patient outcomes.
  • Understanding and complying with federal and state laws, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS Health policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within designated time frames.
  • Attention and Focus
    • Concentrate on tasks over time.
    • Pivot quickly from one task to another.
    • Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation
    • Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner.
    • Notice and respond appropriately to patient reactions.

    • Use verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues.
    • Employ active listening, ask questions, and avoid interrupting.
  • Mathematical Reasoning
    • Use math to determine tablet counts, day’s supply, and bottle quantities.
  • Problem Resolution
    • Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
  • Physical Demands
    • Mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
    • Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead and use precise hand movements.
    • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and/or exert up to 20 lbs of force; frequently up to 10 lbs.
    • Use spoken word to convey detailed instructions accurately.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
