Information Systems Assistant 1966
Job SummaryUnder general supervision, provides technical support services relative to computers, computer software, databases, hardware, printers, networks and telecommunications systems. Also, provides services in the design, support and maintenance of TCRC Document Imaging application(s) and scanning hardware.
Primary Responsibilities- Computer hardware installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting including updating and replacing internal components, peripherals and related items.
- Computer software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrading, distribution, licensure and management.
- Local Area Network access control and local security.
- Create and maintain processes for end user interaction with electronic documentation.
- Provide bulk scanning services and support.
- Train and support scanning on various hardware platforms and devices.
- Liaison between staff and IS service providers for problem resolution.
- Additional projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of records.
- Ability to work independently.
- Problem solving ability.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated security/confidentiality experience.
- Familiarity or expertise in database creation, reporting (e.g., Query, SQL) and report generation.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred in computer systems or closely related coursework, or equivalent training.
- 5 years experience in computer systems technical support.
- Familiarity with LANs, WANs and standard PC software products.
- Reliable transportation or equivalent means of transportation.
Adequate manual dexterity and coordination for operation of a computer and other standard office equipment. Ability to sit at a workstation for long periods, read, write and comprehend large amounts of written material, use the telephone and communicate via electronic mail. Occasional travel to another work‑site location is required. Able to stand, sit or walk for moderate distances. Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, kneel, stoop, bend and squat.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 lbs and infrequently up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. All these physical tasks are essential functions of the position.
