SummaryThe Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver and document patient care, coordinate with physicians, and uphold confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
Pay & ShiftsPay rate: $30–$33 per hour.
- Day shifts: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- PM shifts: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm

- Active, unencumbered CA LVN license
- Current CPR certification (hands‑on component)
- TB skin test – 2 step, current within last 12 months
- At least one year of prior hands‑on nursing experience
- Reliable transportation
- Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies and procedures
- Continuing education as required by state
- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in accordance with physician orders.
- Continuously observe, assess patient conditions, and report changes to supervisor and/or physician.
- Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care promptly.
- Participate in, implement, and update the nursing care plan.
- Take appropriate nursing actions based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes.
- Implement care to prevent or reduce risks when patient needs change.
- Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Apply infection control measures to protect staff and patients (OSHA standards).
- Educate patient and family on disease process, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of nursing competencies through education, learning management systems, and skill evaluations.
- South Carolina – One year of pediatrics experience
- California – One year of experience working under current nursing license
- Louisiana – One year of experience working as a licensed nurse
- Continuing education as required by state
- Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home‑health experience
- Attention to detail
- Time management
- Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Speak, write, read, and understand English
- Travel as required
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
- Climb stairs; sit as required
- Visual and hearing acuity; strong sense of smell and touch
- Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Function in diverse environments that may involve allergens and other conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
- Comply with all health‑related requirements when accepting Medicare and Medicaid funds, including required vaccinations and testing (subject to medical or religious exemptions).
