Position Summary

The NAM Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for working closely with regional plant leadership and cross‑functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues impacting operational performance. Examples of these issues include rate, yield, crewing, and quality challenges which have a material impact on FPMP and/or Supply Chain performance. This role will be based at our Simpsonville, SC site with travel (30%) to other sites as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Perform “Deep Dive” analysis into operational issues to identify root causes alone and in partnership with plant resources including engineering and OpEx teams
  • Help facilitate and promote plant‑to‑plant OpEx best practices
  • Provide insights into senior leadership for operational improvement opportunities
  • Resolve operational challenges
  • Perform data analysis using SAP, Power BI, and various support programs to analyze key business metrics and identify opportunities to increase performance
  • Identify opportunities and support plants in translating those opportunities into executable action plans
  • Support performance improvement initiative pipeline growth and health
  • Participate in financial management calls, take action and lead investigations as applicable
  • Review monthly trends and understand categories that are over/under‑performing
  • Lead regional operational excellence and continuous improvement efforts and provide guidance on approach and methodology
  • Partner with Supply Chain Operations leaders to ensure improvement efforts are completed in a timely manner
  • Directly lead and/or participate in kaizen events and other continuous improvement efforts
  • Teach, demonstrate and coordinate lean implementation efforts and activities on the manufacturing floor such as Kanban, Material Conveyance, Production flow, Super Market design and deployment, Value Stream Mapping, Takt time analysis, Problem‑Solving, Standardized work, Set‑up reduction, 5S, Visual Workplace, Error‑Proofing, TPM, SMED, Visual Factory, Kaizen, Scheduling, etc.
  • Assist plant Lean teams in sustaining gains achieved in Lean efforts
  • Support management team in identifying and implementing best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience in Operational Excellence and/or Continuous Improvement
  • Prior experience in a similar role within Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations
  • Prior experience leading operational excellence and/or continuous improvement efforts at a large manufacturing plant or across multiple plant locations within a region
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of financial measurements and goals in a fast‑paced business
  • Strong data analytics capability with working knowledge of Power BI
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated success in leading and driving sustained changes on the manufacturing floor
  • Demonstrated success leading kaizen events focused on Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations
  • Ability to teach, coach, and lead advanced training in Lean methodologies, 5S, SMED, VSM, Kaizen and other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within the organization
  • Ability to travel up to 30% (as applicable)
