Position: Hot Product Design Lead - Global Payments

In ramps and crypto payments, users increasingly choose based on speed, clarity, trust, and perceived reliability, not just price. In partner environments where multiple ramp providers sit side by side, design quality directly influences conversion, drop off, and preference.

This role exists to turn UIUX into a measurable growth lever for Banxa and OSL Pay. Not to “make things look better”, but to systematically improve conversion, trust, and partner preference through superior product experience.

Initially, the focus is on Banxa and OSL Pay ramps, shaping how users experience:

  • Onboarding and KYC flows
  • Payment method selection and friction
  • Pricing and fee transparency
  • Error handling, retries, and edge cases
  • Trust signals, brand credibility, and reassurance moments

Over time, this role helps unify product design, experience principles, and brand expression across the Global Payments team, ensuring consistency without sacrificing local or partner specific needs.

What success looks like
  • We consistently outperform competing ramps on conversion in shared partner environments.
  • UIUX becomes a clear reason partners and wallets prefer to feature Banxa and OSL Pay.
  • Design decisions are tied to measurable outcomes: conversion lift, drop off reduction, time to complete, and trust signals.
  • The ramps feel fast, clear, and predictable even in complex regulatory or payment scenarios.
  • A coherent design language and experience system emerges across the payments group, reducing fragmentation and rework.

This role owns the strategy and execution of product design for Banxa and OSL Pay, with a sharp focus on conversion, trust, and competitive differentiation.

What is this role responsible for?

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define a clear UIUX strategy for ramps that treats design as a growth and conversion lever, not a cosmetic layer.
  • Own and evolve the end to end ramp experience across assets, payment methods, geographies, and partner contexts.
  • Identify and remove friction in high drop off moments such as KYC, payment selection, redirects, failures, and retries.
  • Design pricing and fee presentation that maximizes clarity, trust, and perceived fairness without harming economics.
  • Run structured UX experiments and A/B tests focused on conversion, completion rates, and user confidence.
  • Establish experience principles for when speed matters more than explanation, and when reassurance matters more than speed.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, data, and growth teams to ensure design decisions are instrumented and measurable.
  • Partner with compliance, risk, and legal teams to deliver regulatory requirements without unnecessary UX damage.
  • Create a scalable design system and interaction patterns that can be reused across Banxa, OSL Pay, and future group products.
  • Shape the internal design narrative: how the company thinks about UX, tradeoffs, and experience led growth.
Skills & Experience

Skills:

  • Deep product design expertise with a strong bias toward conversion, usability, and behavioral outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of how UIUX influences trust, especially in financial, payments, or high risk transactions.
  • Ability to balance regulatory, technical, and commercial constraints without defaulting to poor experiences.

Data literate. Comfortable using funnels, heatmaps, experiments, and qualitative signals to justify decisions.
  • Strong systems thinking. Able to design components, patterns, and principles that scale across products and brands.
  • Clear communicator who can explain design tradeoffs in business terms, not design jargon.
Experience
  • 5+ years in product design, UX, or experience strategy roles.
  • Experience in high volume, conversion driven products such as fintech, payments, ecommerce, marketplaces, or platforms.
  • Experience designing for complex flows involving identity, payments, errors, and edge cases.
  • Prior work in crypto, trading, or regulated financial products is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
  • Experience operating as a senior individual contributor with significant ownership and autonomy.
