Tesla Electronics Test and Automation Group (ETAG) is responsible for ensuring the highest quality vehicle, silicon, and robotics electronics for our customers. Our mission is to develop test automation equipment, architect software automation frameworks, and provide hardware/software/data infrastructure for Tesla electronics communities worldwide.

We are seeking a skilled engineer to support Manufacturing Test of low-voltage electronic hardware onsite. Responsibilities include setting up and debugging testers, analyzing issues on both tester and product sides, and collaborating with test engineers to maintain manufacturing tests globally. The role also involves working with Failure Analysis engineers to investigate product failures and serve as the primary contact for initial failure analysis and response.

This team focuses on mechanical, electrical, and software design of reliable testers and tools for all production vehicles. We seek a motivated Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team, working with cross-functional groups to design, develop, and implement high-quality test solutions. Projects are fast-paced, often with timelines as short as a few weeks, producing equipment for vehicle testing and assembly at the forefront of Tesla’s innovation.

• Maintain and optimize automated test equipment and software for low-voltage electronics, especially RF products, to ensure production efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve test issues, collaborating with teams to implement corrective actions.
• Support the development and maintenance of production test specifications, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Improve test processes through software and hardware updates to meet evolving product needs.
• Work with suppliers to resolve test issues, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Analyze test failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, maintaining detailed records of tests and maintenance.

• Proficiency in Python development on Linux, with troubleshooting and code optimization experience.
• Hands-on electronics troubleshooting and repair skills.
• RF test expertise, including spectrum analysis, signal generation, and RF signal processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills, experience with Lean Six Sigma and GRR methodologies.
• Understanding of electrical product testing processes and optimization across production lines.
• Cost-conscious, process-oriented mindset to improve hardware/software frameworks.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across the APAC region for on-site support.
