Title:
** End-to-End Electrical and Physical Failure Analysis (EFA & PFA) Workflow Optimization###
** Project Description
** Electrical Failure Analysis (EFA) and Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) are critical engineering workflows used to identify root causes of product and process issues. These workflows involve multiple stakeholders, manual data handling, and sequential process steps that can impact overall cycle time and efficiency.
This internship project focuses on
** learning, documenting, and analyzing the end-to-end EFA & PFA workflow**, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing at least one project-based enhancement such as process optimization, automation, or data visualization. The intern will gain exposure to real-world semiconductor engineering workflows while applying structured problem-solving and improvement methodologies.###
** Project Scope
*** Learn and understand the
** end-to-end EFA & PFA workflow**, including key process steps, handoffs, and tools used
* Engage with engineers and technicians through
** interviews and observations
** to understand current challenges, pain points, bottlenecks, and manual activities
* Analyze existing process flows, data handling methods, and tools to identify gaps or inefficiencies
* Propose and implement
** project-based improvements**, such as: + Automation of manual or repetitive tasks + Process flow optimization to reduce cycle time + Data visualization, dashboards, or reporting enhancements
* Track and assess the impact of implemented improvements using defined metrics
* Prepare and present findings, progress updates, and final results to the team and stakeholders###
** Learning Opportunities
*** Understanding semiconductor failure analysis concepts and workflows (EFA & PFA)
* Process mapping, workflow analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
* Stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering in an engineering environment
* Basic automation, scripting, or tool development (where applicable)
* Data analysis, visualization, and presentation skills
* Professional communication and project presentation to technical stakeholders###
** Deliverables
* ** Documented overview of the
** current EFA & PFA process flow**, including identified challenges, gaps, and inefficiencies
* Completion of
** at least one improvement project**, such as: + An automation tool or script + An optimized process flow + A dashboard or reporting solution + A system or workflow enhancement
* Final presentation summarizing: + Learning outcomes + Project objectives and approach + Results and measurable impact + Recommendations for future improvements###
** Impact of Project
