The Role
This position will be responsible for providing technical support, solutioning, and industry knowledge for tasks assigned in the technical services section within Group Property Management (GPM). It also requires support to the portfolio Property Management teams to review technical issues, defects, replacement and conversion works across Mapletree Group’s asset portfolio and ensure compliance with building safety requirements and standards.
Reporting to the VP, Technical Services, the candidate must possess excellent technical skills in one or more M&E areas and strong stakeholder engagement skills. The role demands independent work to achieve Group Property Management (GPM) goals while collaborating with the broader GPM team.
Job Responsibilities- Work closely with portfolio technical team(s), external consultants and contractors to review property-related end‑of‑life replacements and/or defects, and propose solutions for replacement or rectification, operation, repair, and maintenance of all building M&E facilities and systems.
- Provide expert advice to the local team in solving critical structural or mechanical issues.
- When assigned and needed, lead, plan, control, organise and monitor building defects and conversion works to achieve asset objectives and standards across the portfolio of assets.
- Work with procurement to source and procure consultancy services (where required) and contractors to implement rectification/conversion works.
- Review consultants’ building proposals for design, functionality and for building operations, covering existing properties (maintenance, operations and design/replacements) and new‑build projects.
- When assigned, manage the budget and expenditure of repair and maintenance works, long‑term building asset repairing and replacement planning, and capital expenditure projects.
- Explore new initiatives, innovations or automation and provide recommendations for better energy and cost savings as well as greater operational efficiency across the portfolio.
- Assist in running the Engineering forum to showcase innovations and align engineering practice within internal stakeholders.
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in building facilities management, project management and integrated fitting‑out works.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Experience with SAP is an added advantage.
- Experience in GRESB and WELL certification work is advantageous.
- Certification as a Green Mark Associate or Fire Safety Manager is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, planning, communication and good interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to manage operations and projects simultaneously.
