Job Description & How to Apply Below
Company Overview

RV Capital is a leading Asia-focused hedge fund manager headquartered in Singapore, specializing in navigating global credit, rates and currency markets to generate alpha. Our team combines deep fundamental and macroeconomic expertise, rigorous quantitative research, and a modern, in-house data and trading technology stack.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Credit Analyst to join our credit team in Singapore, working directly with the credit portfolio manager. This is a research-and-trading seat: you will own fundamental coverage of a portfolio of issuers, generate and defend trade ideas across bonds and CDS, and help build the tools and processes the credit desk relies on.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building a three-statement credit model, working through a bond indenture, and writing Python to automate a daily risk report. You should be passionate about credit markets, have a strong accounting foundation, and bring a disciplined, evidence-driven approach to investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities Fundamental Credit Research
  • Take ownership of coverage for a portfolio of issuers across Asia IG and HY credit, including corporates, financials and quasi-sovereigns.
  • Spread financial statements and build and maintain credit models, covering leverage, coverage, liquidity, cash-flow and recovery analysis.
  • Review bond documentation (covenants, ranking, call/put features, structural subordination) and assess how it affects downside protection.
  • Track earnings, rating actions, policy developments and company-specific events, and update investment views promptly.
Relative Value & Trade Generation
  • Screen for relative-value opportunities across issuers, curves, capital structures, and bonds vs. CDS.
  • Prepare trade ideas with clear theses, comparables, catalysts, risk-reward and exit levels.
  • Write concise investment memos and present recommendations to the PM.
Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management
  • Monitor markets, positions and P&L daily, and flag material developments to the PM.
  • Track portfolio exposures (spread duration, issuer/sector concentration, liquidity) and support positions sizing.
  • Conduct post-trade review and P&L attribution to refine the investment process.
  • Support trade execution and booking, keeping records accurate and reconciled.
Data, Tools & Automation
  • Build and maintain Python tools to pull market and issuer data (e.g., Bloomberg) and automate daily reporting and monitoring.
  • Develop screening dashboards and issuer databases that make the team’s research process scalable.
  • Partner with technology and operations to improve data quality, analytics and workflow efficiency.
Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Work with the macro team to bring top-down views (rates, FX, sovereign risk, policy) into credit positioning.
  • Contribute original, well-supported ideas in research meetings.
  • Document models and methodologies to keep them transparent and reproducible.
Qualifications Core
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience in credit research, fixed income, ratings, banking or investment management. Strong graduates are also welcome to apply.
  • Strong accounting foundation, with the ability to read, analyse and model financial statements independently.
  • Solid understanding of fixed income and credit: bond pricing, spreads, duration, CDS, capital structure and recovery.
  • Familiarity with Asian credit markets and the macro and policy drivers of credit spreads.
Technical
  • Coding proficiency in Python (pandas, Num Py) for data analysis and automation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel. Experience with Bloomberg is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
General
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn complex analysis into clear, actionable views.
  • Genuine interest in markets and investing.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • CFA progress or a relevant professional qualification is a plus.
