The Role
As part of our team you’ll work with IT personnel at broker-dealers and institutional clients to help them integrate their front-office, mid-office and back-office technology systems to the Market Axess Fixed Income trading system via Application Programming Interfaces (API). The primary focus for the PS group is to support and monitor Market Axess systems. The job will be dual focussed across both groups
How You’ll Help Take Us There
- Working with new and existing institutional clients and broker-dealers with the implementation/integration of Market Axess and TRAX-provided APIs for various STP features
- Support API integration for various fixed income products - US Investment Grade, Emerging Markets, High Yield, US Agencies, Asset Backed Securities and Credit Default Swaps.
- Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, aimed at external IT audience.
- Work with business analysts, quality assurance teams and developers to design and implement features with client requirements/needs in mind
- Continue to build and foster relationships with dealer and client IT teams, engaging them in the design and development of new products/features/services etc
- Occasionally, build tools and test harnesses to support the ongoing integration of clients and dealers with the Market Axess system.
General Support
Responsibilities Include:- Provide cover to the Live and Test trading systems, ensuring smooth running of trading system servers and services
- Form part of the Global support roster to assist in our follow the sun model. Participate in weekend support rosters
- Provide technical support to the external Dealer and Client users of the Market Axess GUI application and other MA products
- Provide 2 nd line support services for client services and account management teams
- Support external users of the API interfaces
- Provide networking and connectivity support
- Monitoring system servers and ensuring appropriate monitoring is in place
- Raise and track issues through the use of the Jira ticketing mechanism.
- Answer the Production Support hotline in a professional manner
What We’re Looking For
- Someone with industry experience in trade support, integration, development and/or business analyst role.
- Understanding of Fixed Income products, order and trade flow and Ecommerce platforms would be beneficial.
- Experience and thought leadership in certification is highly desirable. Specifically, automation of certification procedures and installing self-service tools in order to produce operational efficiencies
- FIX protocol experience is must
- Experience with TCP/IP & networking fundamentals
- Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system including user commands, scripting etc.
- RDBMS skills (SQL Server and/or Oracle) – ability to read, write and run SQL scripts
- Ability to resolve problems and incidents across multiple technology areas
- Knowledge of batch scheduling and monitoring software i.e., Control-M & GENEOS would be beneficial
- A degree from a recognised university
