The Premier League’s recently established Singapore Office is looking for a Content Protection Manager on a maternity cover basis to manage and strengthen its online enforcement activity across Asia Pacific. This role will play an important part in protecting the Premier League’s intellectual property rights by identifying, investigating and disrupting illegal online streaming and other forms of unauthorised content distribution across the region.
Working closely with the Director of Content Protection, APAC, the wider IP Enforcement department and third-party anti-piracy vendors, the successful candidate will use their technical expertise, investigative skills and understanding of the online piracy landscape to support both day-to-day enforcement activity and longer-term strategic decision-making. They will be expected to monitor and assess current and emerging threats, review enforcement data, identify escalation opportunities and provide clear research, reporting and analysis to inform the Premier League’s approach in Asia Pacific.
This is a highly collaborative and externally facing role that requires confidence in representing the Premier League with a range of audiences, including internal stakeholders, enforcement partners, platforms, vendors and public forums where required.
The Role- Manage online enforcement activity across Asia Pacific, helping to identify, investigate and disrupt illegal services infringing the Premier League’s intellectual property rights.
- Apply strong technical knowledge of illegal online streaming, piracy networks, streaming protocols and preventative technologies to support effective enforcement outcomes.
- Monitor the online landscape to find, verify and process the removal of unauthorised Premier League content, either through third-party vendors or directly via systems provided by online platforms.
- Review enforcement actions and data provided by third-party anti-piracy vendors, identifying trends, issues and opportunities for escalation.
- Prepare clear research, reporting and analysis on online enforcement activity, piracy trends and relevant regional developments to inform day-to-day and longer-term strategic anti-piracy decisions.
- Provide detailed information on parties requiring escalation, supporting the wider IP Enforcement department with evidence-led recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues, external vendors, platforms and enforcement partners to improve the effectiveness of the Premier League’s content protection activity in the region.
- Represent the Premier League confidently when presenting to a range of audiences, including internal stakeholders and external or public forums where required.
- Relevant experience in the content protection industry.
- Excellent level of technical and practical expertise including knowledge of streaming protocols and technologies.
- Ability to review raw data and to analyse trends, patterns and highlight issues.
- Work with the Content Protection team by undertaking investigations into online piracy networks in APAC
- Support the Content Protection team by interpreting piracy data and information to the wider IP Enforcement department
