We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL to manage, optimize, and support enterprise database environments. The role will focus on database availability, performance, security, cloud environments, disaster recovery, and data integration.
Responsibilities- Database Administration: Administer, maintain, and optimize MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, reliability, performance, and security.
- Cloud & RDS Management: Manage databases across hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and RDS
, ensuring efficient and secure database operations. - High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement and support Always On Availability Groups (AAG), backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Performance Optimization & Automation: Monitor database performance, identify and resolve performance issues, and optimize database environments. Automate routine database administration and maintenance activities where appropriate.
- Data Warehousing & ETL: Design, implement, maintain, and support data warehouse environments,
SSIS packages
, and ETL processes. - Database Migration & Dev Ops: Support cloud-based database migration initiatives and contribute to Dev Ops practices for database deployment and management.
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL database administration.
- Strong experience managing databases in hybrid cloud environments
, including AWS/Azure and RDS. - Good knowledge and practical experience with Always On Availability Groups (AAG) and disaster recovery solutions.
- Hands-on experience in database performance tuning and optimization
. - Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and SSIS
. - Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, security, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Experience with cloud database migrations and database-related Dev Ops practices.
- Familiarity with Redgate tools and SQL Compare
. - Exposure to BI and reporting tools such as Tableau and Jasper
. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work effectively in a technical team environment.
