WATG is the world’s preeminent destination and hospitality design firm. We are employee‑owned, home to more than 500 professionals globally, located remotely and in our offices in Atlantic City, California, Dallas, New York, Honolulu, London, Singapore, and Shanghai. Our approach to design applies a hospitality ethos to the development of all shapes and sizes. From initial feasibility studies to finishing touches, we operate globally as an integrated, multidisciplinary practice.

Along with our interior design studio, Wimberly Interiors, we specialize in hospitality, gaming + entertainment, urban + mixed‑use, and high‑end residential design. We were founded in Honolulu in 1945, and the spirit of the islands taught us to focus on community strength, self‑reliance, and sustainability – which we still prioritize today. We passionately believe that culture and heritage are the roots of long‑term resilience.

We stay true to our values of designing spaces that respect, protect, and enhance the natural magic of their surroundings while delivering long‑term value for our clients and their communities.

WATG is hiring a Project Manager for our Singapore office.

ROLE

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the internal and external project team, focusing on three primary goals: maximizing the design value of the project; achieving technical excellence; and achieving the expected financial results. This role goes far beyond coordination — it demands a strategic leader who can inspire teams, champion the client’s vision, and safeguard WATG’s design integrity and commercial success.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing large or several small‑scale projects through all phases of development until completion. The position has the overall project responsibility for client engagement, design, and technical quality control, resourcing, and financial performance. They act as a trusted advisor, anticipating challenges, resolving issues proactively, and maintaining the confidence of both clients and teams.

The Project Manager reports to the Studio Director or Managing Principal.

  • Create the project work plan and adjust it as needed as the project proceeds.
  • Negotiate additional services as appropriate.
  • Monitor project processes and quality to ensure design concepts meet internal and external expectations.
  • Create detailed project schedules, work breakdown structure, and budgets, and maintain the work plan through regular monitoring and communication, making timely decisions and taking actions to meet project milestones, financial status, and outcome.
  • Maintain high‑quality standards for design and production of the required deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Have technical strength in a professional discipline or specific project type to write project narratives, research code requirements, review cost estimates, design and technical deliverables, construction contract documents, and sub‑consultant work.
  • Understand and manage the relationship between the project contract terms, the team assignments, budgets, and schedules, and control the resulting impact on WATG’s financial results, forecasts, and staffing plans.
  • Manage timely and accurate billings and collections.
  • Coordinate with the principal and marketing/business development team efforts related to business development, marketing, and negotiation in the procurement of new projects and clients, especially as it relates to additional work/add services from existing clients.
  • Assist with the preparation of the contract, including terms and conditions.
  • Lead effective team collaboration across service lines in external and internal project meetings.
  • Manage and monitor the day‑to‑day activities of the project team and their assignments.
