Role Purpose

As General Manager you will manage day‑to‑day leadership and direction of the hotel, maximising sales and revenue and driving financial returns. You’ll take ownership of the development of your people, execute on brand standards and build awareness of the hotel and brand within the local area.

Key Accountabilities People
  • Develop programmes and initiatives to increase team engagement aligned with the hotel’s service philosophy.
  • Implement and monitor succession planning to ensure future bench strength.
  • Establish performance and development goals and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to enhance performance.
  • Oversee HR actions in accordance with company rules and policies.
Guest Experience
  • Maintain compliance with brand and service standards.
  • Drive improvement in guest satisfaction goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver services that exceed guest expectations.
  • Seek guest feedback and build relationships.
Financial
  • Prepare annual capital, cash‑flow and sales/marketing plans with accurate budgets.
  • Analyse financials to drive revenue, profitability and return on investment.
  • Utilise distribution channels and technology platforms to maximise market share.
  • Lead capital and asset‑management initiatives with owners to maintain or improve the property’s leadership position.
Responsible Business
  • Ensure safety for guests, colleagues and assets.
  • Act as public‑relations representative to raise local brand awareness.
  • Encourage team involvement in community organisations and businesses.
  • Develop and implement plans to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Skills & Experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Five to ten years of prior hotel management experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
