Reporting to our Certification & Inspection Manager, the Certification & Inspection Technician will conduct comprehensive visual, non‑destructive testing (NDT), and magnetic rope testing (MRT) inspections of Motive APAC and client equipment, commission and operate spooling winches and associated equipment, ensuring all operations meet safety and operational standards while maintaining clear communication with clients and the Operations Department.
Responsibilities People- Adopt the Motive Offshore Group People Values and embed them throughout day‑to‑day tasks and decision making.
- Liaise and build rapport with clients at the worksite.
- Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders – clients, colleagues, etc.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.
- HSEQ – comply with health, safety and environmental regulations and the company’s management system.

- Participate in internal and external training courses where identified.
- Adhere to and participate in company‑wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives supporting Net Zero objectives.
On‑Site Duties
- Visual inspections: perform thorough visual assessments of rental fleet and lifting equipment.
- Equipment management: oversee the maintenance, management and certification processes for equipment.
- Database administration: maintain and update the Motive online certification database accurately.
- Non‑destructive testing: conduct NDT on rental fleet equipment to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Workshop support: assist with general workshop duties as and when required.
- Wire rope operations: support tasks including spooling, inspection and socketing of wire ropes.
Off‑Site Duties (Local & Offshore)
- Field inspections: carry out visual inspections of lifting equipment and accessories at various sites.
- Advanced testing: execute non‑destructive testing and magnetic rope testing on site.
- Database utilisation: use the Motive online certification database for remote equipment management.
- Wire rope maintenance: manage wire rope spooling, socketing and inspection tasks.
- Crane operations: facilitate removal and installation of crane wire ropes.
- Global engagement: participate in offshore operations and work assignments across international locations as required.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Educated to a proficient standard.
- Experience operating machinery.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Self‑motivated.
- WSQ Supervise Marine Work for WSH (previously known as Shipyard Safety Supervisor Course).
- Rigger & Signalman Certification.
- 3G Welding Certification.
- PCN non‑destructive testing certification (PD, MPI & ECT).
- LEEA lifting equipment inspection certification.
- LEEA lifting machine inspection certification.
- Offshore survival & medical (provided).
